How do I know which bulb is right for my car?

If you are at all unsure about the right bulbs for your car, use our comprehensive search facility and let us do the hard work. Simply choose the Make, Model and Variant/Year of your car and find the bulbs that are right for you.

Do I need to make any special modifications to my car?

All our bulbs are direct replacements for your existing bulbs, simply remove the old ones and clip in the new ones.

Important Note: The most important thing to remember when replacing a bulb is to prevent the glass portion of the bulb from coming into contact with your skin. These bulbs get very hot when illuminated and any oil or dirt that gets into contact with the glass will cause the bulb to burn out prematurely. Grip the bulb from the base at all times (see below):

How do I replace the bulbs in my vehicle?

Each car is different so you will need to look in your user manual for model specific instructions. Once you open the casing however the bulbs just need to be replaced, i.e. unclip the old and clip in the new.

My car is not on your vehicle search?

There are thousands of car models on the roads today, therfore we have left out some of the more individual cars to make our search facility simpler for most users. However please feel free to contact us by either calling 01670 706983or emailing sales@1stautobulbs.com and we will tell you the exact bulbs you need. Alternatively you can visually identify your bulb by clicking on the 'Bulb Image Search' which can be found marked with a magnifying glass in the left hand bar on every page. A list of all the cars available is also shown in our comprehensive Car-Listing. I need more information on a particular product, how do I get this?

Because we at 1stAutoStore want you to get the best possible bulbs, great care has been taken to give you as much information as possible so an informed choice can be made. Permanently displayed on the right hand side of your screen is a listing of all of the bulbs we supply, simply by clicking on the name of the bulb you are interested in a information screen is displayed providing you with detailed product information, you can also purchase the items directly from each page, there is also a dropdown box on the left displaying all the major types of bulbs including H1, H4 and H7 as well as many more.

Once you have identified which bulb is right for your car a list of options will be presented, simply click the image button to provide the major advantages of each bulb type.

Order Questions

How do I place an order?

Once you have chosen the type of bulb for your car several brand options will be displayed. Next to each of these options an 'Add to Cart' button will be displayed, simply click on the corresponding button for the item you wish to purchase (all bulbs are priced and supplied in pairs). We have bulbs from all major manufacturers including Bosch, Philips, Osram and out own Classic Range.

How do I know if my order has been received?

Once you have submitted your delivery details then all the information (including order number) will be displayed for you to confirm. After these details have been confirmed you will be taken to the 128bit SSL secure server to input your debit/credit card details. Once you have done this an 'order confirmation' screen is displayed thanking you for your order.

Note: Please keep your order number safe in case you need to contact us for any reason.

Can I add to an existing order?

Once an order has been processed you cannot add additional items to it, however with free delivery and another free gift, if your order is over £14 it's well worth ordering from us again, even on the same day!

My order has not arrived, what do I do?

Deliveries sometimes are delayed because of local post issues, realistically you should be waiting no more than 1-5 working days, if you are in the UK, 2-7 days anywhere else. If you have waited longer than this please contact us immediately to resolve the issue.

Can I get my goods delivered to a different address?

We at 1stAutoStore realise that sometimes you cannot be in when packages are delivered, we give you an option to deliver to an alternate address. However to authorise the card we also need your home address.

On the delivery details screen enter your name and home address, then (if required) enter the delivery address in the relevant fields.

Item Returns


I have received the incorrect bulbs, what should I do?

While all efforts are made to ensure you get their correct bulbs, from time to time mistakes may happen. In this situation please email customer services (sales@1stautobulbs.com), give details including your Name, Order Number, details of the bulbs you received and the actual bulbs you require. We will then determine the correct bulbs for you and exchange them, if the fault was ours we will also pay for return carriage of the bulbs.

If you ordered incorrect bulbs we will be more than happy to send out the correct bulbs once we receive the old ones back, packaged in the original box, with your order number inside.

Please note, all goods returned to us must be in the same condition as they were sent (i.e. original box) and a copy of the order number enclosed as proof of purchase.

What if I change my mind?

If you ordered the goods less than 16 days ago that's fine. All our products are covered by our no-quibble 16-day money-back guarantee. Return them to us in the post unused, in their original packaging with the invoice, and we'll give you a refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.
